~ MARDI GRAS ~

The day finally came, March 4th, it was time to celebrate what we came here for! The city of New Orleans was engulfed in the spirit of Mardi Gras. Early in the morning, a variety of costumes were spotted in the city, from face masks to more elaborate head to toe looks. Police fences and barricades were evident in the city because things were about to get crazy. And it did! The streets were filled with parade goers ready to get as many beads as humanly possible. Even though it was raining,  this hindrance did not stop people from coming out and celebrating. Trizza and I walked back to the hotel with four full bags of loot and it was all worth it.

more after the jump...

Different krewes paraded through the city of New Orleans with their beautifully decorated floats, equipped with an abundance of beads and different give aways that varied from stuffed toys, doubloons, flags, necklaces, caramel corn, peanuts and many more.

Local school marching bands, the American navy, cadets and dancers also walked the parade. They kept their smiles and high spirits throughout the parade. Even though it was technically, raining on their parade.
